What I Do: 

• Free reading assessments

• One-on-one direct reading instruction conducted virtually or in person

• Provide materials, parent consultation, and progress monitoring

How I Do It: 

I begin by using a data-based reading assessment which helps me identify what your child's reading strengths are as well as identifying areas needing improvement. I go over the results with you, reviewing your child's current reading skills and give my recommendations for a reading program tailored to your child.

Next, I place your child within the reading program's sequence, based on their current reading level. The goal is to build fluency in cornerstone skills such as identifying letter sounds, sound combinations, and blending mastery. These essential skills make up the foundation for your child's reading success. My lessons are carefully sequenced and designed so that your child meets with success every step of the way!

Last but not least, sessions begin. I teach, give rewards, and measure progress at every session to make sure your child is learning. The data lets me know if your child is on track or if I need to make a change. By measuring your child's progress daily, I know immediately if an adjustment is needed! I share information regarding progress with you and your child on a weekly basis.

 Who I Work With:

I work with elementary readers (K-5), as well as struggling readers up through age 12, and their families. I am enthusiastic about opening up the world of reading to my students as well as providing parents assitance to help with their child's learning at home.
